Robots can’t keep up with the "appetite" of the public
"With the increasing popularity of AI, people can often see robots in exhibitions, TV, newspapers and magazines, but they have not really entered thousands of households." Wang Tianmiao, honorary director of the Robotics Research Institute of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, said at the Fifth China (Hangzhou) world robot West Lake Forum recently, "because there are many categories of robots, it's only an angle to" fly into ordinary people's homes "to judge their popularity. From production to application, one thing remains the same, that is, only by insisting on the combination of skill development and market demand, can robots enter people's vision more. "
It is difficult to satisfy customers' needs
"The price problem can be seen directly. For interactive robots in family care, education and other aspects, the market price is about 20000-30000, or even up to 100000, which is beyond the ordinary family's ability to pay." Wang Tianmiao said.
In addition, slow communication and sluggish action are the primary slot points of customer-oriented service robots. It is not hard to find that at that time, the functions of robots purchased by customers at a high price were still relatively single, and their utilization rate and frequency were relatively low. In addition, with the diversification of consumer groups, the demands for robot functions were also different, which made it difficult to master the direction of product specialization.
"Dig robots that fit people's daily needs, and further research is needed." Wang Tianmiao shows that in the face of the needs of different groups, such as different ages, interests and hobbies, many existing robots can not meet the psychological fit of customers in the way and content of human-computer interaction. When the robot function is improved in the future, it may bring security risks such as privacy information leakage.
Some distance from the world level
According to the statement on the development of China's robot industry 2019 released by China Electronics Society, the planning of China's robot shopping malls in 2019 is estimated to reach 8.68 billion US dollars, and the growth rate in recent five years has surpassed the global average.
"Thanks to the demand brought about by the accelerated upgrading of intelligent production, China's industrial robot market planning continues to grow. At that time, it has accounted for about one third of the global industrial robot market, and is the world's largest industrial robot market." According to Wang Tianmiao, from the perspective of the market structure of robots, the market planning of industrial robots in China this year is estimated to reach 5.73 billion US dollars, accounting for 66%, and domestic industrial robots are gradually gaining recognition.
In 2017-2018, the annual output value of robots in China is about 14000-150000, while the number of independent brands is only about 43000. In terms of the current gap between China's robots and the world's robots, the robots of our own brands are still at the middle and low end, and there is also a low-cost competition. There is still a big gap in the use of central components and industrial integration technology.
"In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to these issues." Wang Tianmiao said, "in 2018, the overall sales volume of robots in China decreased by 1.7%, but the sales volume of domestic autonomous brand robots increased by 27.8%. Between one rise and one fall, it reflects the active trend of domestic autonomous brand robots."
The end of crossing needs to start from the pain point
At present, the problem that the original function of the industrial robot foundation in our country affects the fault of R & D products is more serious.
The reward of robot research and development often needs 5, 10, or even more than 20 years, and the cycle of function transformation to product research and development is very long, so we can't make "fast money" in a hurry. Too short sighted in industry to ensure high quality.
Talking about the role transformation in the field of robotics, Wang Tianmiao believes that the combination of skill development and shopping malls' pain points still needs to be improved. "If our skills are separated from the economy and the use of reviews, we will find that many papers, patent skills and even experimental prototypes have no practical significance."
"The innovation of robot products is inseparable from the" craftsman's energy ". Entrepreneurs with special dreams and responsibilities are required." Wang Tianmiao compensates that there is also a need for angel investors with strategic vision to invest, to pull skills from patents and discussion to the market, and to complete the span from basic research to products according to the pain points of practice.
